Part-Time Financial Controller (2 days per week)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to join our startup business based in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of our company, which involves handling 5 active bank accounts, some of which are in foreign currencies, and processing a large number of small value transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and reconcile 5 active bank accounts, including those in foreign currencies
- Oversee and process a high volume of small value transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Quarterly VAT Returns
- Monthly Payroll Management
- Expenses payments
- Credit Card Reconciliation
- Develop and maintain financial control systems and policies
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and tax requirements
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the management team
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and tax laws
- Experience in handling multiple currencies and international transactions
- Proficient in using accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
