Autism Anglia is a well-established independent charity. We have opportunities available for Support Workers on a part-time basis. Working from our Adult Residential Services based in Dereham, Norfolk. The successful Support Worker will assist people who are within the autistic spectrum. Enabling them to maximize their potential and develop life skills across multiple activities. The successful Support Worker will work as part of a team to help those in your care. Helping them achieve their own life goals, through person-centred planning. This role is well suited to someone with previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, or Carer. Caring for Autistic individuals, or those with Learning Disabilities in a healthcare setting.  Autism Anglia offers an extensive induction on the commencement of employment. We are also dedicated to ongoing training and professional development.Residential Services - Norfolk Autism Anglia's Residential Services accommodates individuals within the autistic spectrum, some with additional Learning Disabilities. The house is part of Autism Anglia’s Adult Services. Enabling all individuals to participate in various physical activities such as walking, swimming, shopping, and general socialising in the wider community.Senior Support Workers and the team, work towards enabling individuals to achieve their own life plans by developing life skills through a person-centred, strengths-based planning. This will include being actively involved in empowering them to make individual choices about their everyday living. The role: Working in partnership with the team to provide a strengths-based, outcome-focused approach for all individuals.Maintain the dignity, respect and privacy of each individual supported by assisting them with personal care, health and hygiene-related activities, which may involve sport and leisure, cultural and recreational activities including day trips, short breaks or holidays.Assist individuals with communication support tasks, psychological monitoring, or intervention and sensory support tasks.Ensure that the quality of support given meets the identified need m and that all relevant documentation is regularly reviewed, evaluated and amended as necessary.Keep up-to-date and clear and accurate records and support plans/ risk assessments to reflect each individual’s requirements.Know, understand and work within Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults procedures, ensuring all concerns are acted on and dealt with according to policy and procedure Applications are welcome from Support workers with the following:  Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Carer, preferably with Autism or Learning DisabilitiesAbility to identify the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals who may have communication needs.Experience in working with people with Autism, Learning Disabilities and intensive behavioural support.Experienced with activity co-ordination, knowledge of opportunities in surrounding areasGood range of communication skills Experience working within a health and social care environment. It is essential that the successful applicant holds a full driving licence. To apply: If you have a genuine passion for supporting and uplifting others, your outstanding future at Autism Anglia could be moments away.
