Working for a market leading manufacturing business with over 270 employees on site, that are poised for further growth and investment.
Taking a strategic approach to training, you will assess the skills and knowledge within the business and determine what training is needed to grow and retain these skills by either designing and delivering the training directly or arranging for a third-party trainer.
This is a part-time position offering a 25-hour working week.
Role and Responsibilities
- Further develop the apprenticeship programme across the business. This includes full time apprentice’s as well as up-skilling existing employees.
- Provide the link between the training provider and the business to ensure the effectiveness of the apprenticeship programme.
- Manage the recruitment of new apprentices.
- Expand internship roles across the business, supporting universities and opportunities within the business.
- Working as the liaison between school and colleges ensuring work experience students are managed effectively, careers events are well supported, and the students gain a positive image of the organisation.
- Identify training and development needs within the business.
- Designing and managing training and development programmes based on the needs of the business and the individual.
- Plan and assess the 'return on investment' of any training or development programme, considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets.
- Develop effective induction programmes for new employees.
- Devise individual learning plans where needed.
- Amend and revise programmes as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment and industry developments.
- Promote a work culture of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Manage the training budget and monitor monthly expenditure.
