The Courtyard is seeking a hardworking, organised and experienced manager to co-ordinate and help maintain the participatory activities relating to its young people and adult work, schools projects and in-house classes. The post-holder may be required to deliver occasional schools and youth theatre sessions.
The role will support the Associate Director of The Courtyard in his role as Head of Education and Participation department and Programmer for the organisation by managing the Education Officers & Youth Theatre Leaders on a weekly basis as they deliver sessions in schools, at The Courtyard and at its venues in the communities of Ledbury, Bromyard and Ross. This is a key role that will help see to the delivery of The Courtyard's in-house classes (for both young people and adults) by building good relations with the freelance practitioners and monitoring the number of attendees.
A confident manner and ability to work alongside people, build a good rapport and manage effectively are essential to this role, as well as a keen understanding of the current set up of the arts in relation to schools and young people. The post holder will be coming into a well-established and supportive team and so being able to hit the ground running is also vital. The post holder will also be responsible for reporting back to the Associate Director and supporting them on any future projects.
This role can be done over 4 or 5 days and job sharing is possible. It is a requirement of this role that the post holder has an Enhanced DBS check..
