About the QA Manager - Maternity Cover job

The purpose of your role will be to maintain two sites at a high standard and keep the supplier approvals up to date. Regularly liaise with suppliers and customers, provide technical advice both internally and externally. To keep the company complying with regulations and collaborate in preparing sites for BRC audit and other external visits.

Key tasks

• Record supplier approval documents ensuring they’re in relevant date range and maintain product specifications logs accurately as well as approving or re-approving suppliers and products, supervise the risk assessment and performances process.
• Provide technical support to customers and internally when required whilst maintaining good relationships and communication with customers, contractors and internally.
• Coordinate and carry out internal audits, GMPs and inspections as per auditing schedule and assist the alternate site with BRC audit preparation. Stay abreast of regulatory and legislative changes.
• Collect, control, and communicate food quality assurance information, escalating to the Technical Manager where applicable and participate in the approval of launch of new products.
• Coordinate lab analysis sampling on finished products when required, swabs and validations, and generate reports for plastic tax and packaging regulation.
• Investigate customer complaints, rejects and returns, warehouse adjustments, pest control and utilities such as water and wastage. Manage corrective and preventive actions from non-conformances and any implementation plans including BRC and food safety culture.
• Carry out staff QA training as required as well as hosting monthly and quarterly meetings.

About You

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing technical department, with at least 1 year within a technical managerial role. You should possess level 3 auditing skills as well level 3 Intermediate HACCP and food safety. You should be willing to travel to Basingstoke at least once a month.

• Experience in conducting and preparing BRC or other external audits – minimum 1 year.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• A keen eye for the finer details.

The QA Manager - Maternity Cover (12-month FTC) job is based in Wolverhampton and is paying £30,000 to £38,000, depending on experience.

The package includes 20 days annual leave + bank holidays, company pension, access to company benefits, discounted or free food, on-site parking.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours, 40 hours a week.
