Partnership Accountant (9 month contract)

We are currently recruiting for a Partnership Accountantto join our Finance team in London on a 9 month contract. This officer/advisor level role will provide support to the team on the integration of process for our proposed merger with Shearman and Sterling.
Role and responsibilities

• Assisting with the onboarding of partners and updating the firm’s database following the onboarding
• Supporting the partner payroll team in setting up the payroll processes for the newly merged firm
• Working with the Partnership Capital team on Capital & Capital loan processes
• Assisting with the opening TB for the new merged firm – including journal postings
• Working with team to deliver monthly management accounts data in a timely manner
• Assisting the UK tax team with UK tax calculations and reporting, as and when required
• Providing general support on the financial year-end processes which will run concurrently with the merger

Key requirements

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
• Ability to manage and develop junior members of the team to provide high level of ‘client service’ in a global environment;
• Enthusiastic, dynamic, pro-active, ambitious, commitment to "getting the job done";
• Ability to assimilate large amounts of information and a strong eye for detail;
• Able to work effectively using own initiative and as part of a team;
• Strong numeracy and IT skills, including knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word and the ability to adapt to using unfamiliar software packages. Particular emphasis is placed on experience of Excel;
• Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage processes, critically review and evaluate financial information; and
• Previous experience within a professional services function (desirable).

Who we are looking for

• Ideally a qualified accountant with several years relevant experience in this niche area and proven experience in training and developing staff.
