Duties for a driver include:
Safe Transportation:
- Safely operate a Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) to transport SEN students to and from educational institutions and other designated locations
- Ensure the well-being and safety of students during transit, adhering to all relevant safety regulations and procedure
Specialized Care:
- Provide caring and supportive assistance to SEN students as they board and exit the vehicle
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for students with diverse needs
Route Planning:
- Plan and navigate transportation routes to ensure timely arrival and departure at specified locations
- Adapt routes as needed, considering traffic, road closures, and other factors
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and functionality of the PC
- Report any issues promptly for maintenance and repairs
Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to address any transportation-related concerns
Documentation:
- Complete accurate and timely records, including daily journey logs, student attendance, and any incidents that may occur during transportation
Requirements:
- Valid PCV driving license with full CPC
- Experience in transporting SEN students is highly desirable
- Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of Special Educational Needs students
- Ability to follow and implement safety protocols and procedures
Duties for a passenger assistant include:
Responsibilities:
Student Assistance:
- Provide compassionate and supportive assistance to SEN students during boarding, travel, and disembarking from the vehicle
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring the comfort and well-being of students with diverse needs
Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with students, drivers, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to address any concerns and ensure a seamless transportation experience
Safety and Welfare:
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe transportation of SEN students
- Monitor and attend to the specific needs of individual students, offering reassurance and assistance as required
Documentation:
- Complete accurate and timely records, including daily journey logs, student attendance, and any incidents that may occur during transportation
- Report any concerns or observations to the appropriate personnel promptly
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the PCV Driver and other Passenger Assistants to coordinate and execute efficient and safe transportation services
- Provide feedback and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
