LTF Recruitment are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient Pastoral support worker to work alongside a dedicated, motivated team in an Alternative provision. The successful candidate will be working closely with a range of students, ensuring high standards across the provision.
You will be expected to build warm, caring and supportive relationships with pupils in order to support them in feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school. You will promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils while maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
You will support across the provision, responsible for responding to situations that may arise. You will be available to support class teachers and support staff where needed and maintain high standards in corridors during learning and unstructured times.
Like many SEN environments, your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
- A background in Alternative provision, youth offenders' units or challenging behaviour settings.
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Ability to adapt and be resilient.
- The desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual.
- Be positive and creative in assisting to meet pupils' individual needs.
