Key Responsibilities:
- Student Well-being: Monitor and promote the emotional and social well-being of students, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Behavior Management: Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement strategies for managing and improving student behavior.
- Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to students facing challenges, addressing their needs and concerns in a caring and empathetic manner.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, offering emotional support and coordinating with relevant authorities when necessary.
- Parental Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of pastoral interventions and support provided, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant policies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with school staff, external agencies, and Dunbar Education to enhance the overall support network for students.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a pastoral or support role within the UK education system.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of behavior management strategies and pastoral care principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, staff, and parents.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of students.
