Patient Safety Coordinator

Monitor themes, trends and clusters within case load and inform the Quality & Safety Manager, Clinical Director, Deputy Head of Nursing, Head of Nursing Deputy Head of Midwifery, Head of Midwifery and Head of Operations communicating issues of concern. Support the wider Patient Safety Team with the analysis of incidents, identifying actions. Develop and maintain effective working processes and relationships to ensure performance and quality standards are met. Discuss sensitive and contentious information with staff of all grades and disciplines maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times. Ensure all communication with patients, relatives and carers are open, honest and that investigations are transparent and independent. To ensure responses and reports are factual, well written and clearly identifying learning and actions. Support the Quality & Safety Manager in ensuring staff have the knowledge and skills to improve Patient Safety through training, teaching and by example. Undertake personal development, education and training in relation to Patient Safety to ensure you can meet the continued requirements of the job role. Provide direct line management to the Band 2, Band 3 and Band 4 members of the team. To process routine enquiries and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner, including drafting of letters, and drafting of incident report templates under the guidance of the Quality & Safety Manager.
