Job Description as Payroll Assistant with Stork:


To support in the overall delivery of the Group’s business objectives, whilst implementing departmental procedures in line with Company standards.


Tasks and Responsibilities as Payroll Assistant :


General Payroll Process


  • Accurate input, preparation and checking of the weekly payroll, including adjustments for SSP, SMP, SPP, arrestments etc
  • Ensuring correct allocation of costs for all entities.
  • Controlling the holiday accrual for weekly staff.
  • Maintenance of payroll records.
  • Handling employee queries

New Starters and Leavers


  • The control of documentation required for new starts/leavers
  • Control of all paperwork required for joiners / leavers i.e P45’s

Payroll Queries


  • Investigate into the queries with the assistance of the Payroll Team, Project Team, Personnel Logistics
  • Respond to the employee/manager/project team with the answer
  • Deal with employees and managers over the phone and in person

General Housekeeping


  • Ensure project payroll manuals are relevant, up to date and are used at all times.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection guidelines.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies and institutions.

Specific Requirements for the Payroll Assistant:


Experience and Skills


  • Computer Literacy
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Payroll experience is desirable

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen
Hours: 18 hours per week, Monday – Wednesday
Contract: Fixed-Term. 6 month contract
