Payroll & Bookkeeper

NXTGEN is working with a growing Accountancy Practice based in Norwich, who have a fantastic reputation locally and are looking to hire an experienced Payroll & Bookkeeper

If you're looking for a broad and all-encompassing role, and have experience working in Bookkeeping and Payroll this could be a fantastic next step for you. As the new Payroll & Bookkeeper you will be an integral part of the team and will work within a supportive and fantastic environment, which they pride themselves upon. Within this varied role you will support with ensuring the firms values are upheld and a quality service is provided to a range of small clients', concentrating on Bookkeeping and Payroll duties. This client is committed to providing clients with the best possible service and giving their staff a great working life and uncapped progression opportunities. Having had an influx of new clients recently, this warrants the need for someone who's experienced in both Payroll and Bookkeeping to join the team and hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be passionate about their work, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and is always looking for ways to improve their skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a high quality bookkeeping & Payroll service to clients you work closely with
• Manage purchase/sales ledgers
• Prepare VAT returns for clients efficiently
• Liaise with clients and build professional relationships with them
• Management Accounts preparation
• End to end Payroll duties for a range of clients
• Meet deadlines and address client queries efficiently

What the successful Bookkeeper with need:

• Ideally you'll have worked in an accountancy practice setting, however strong experience in industry is also welcomed
• AAT or equivalent qualification in bookkeeping or accounting is desirable, people who have the relevant experience but are QBE, please also apply, as this is very much welcomed, too
• Confident IT user with Xero, Sage, and Excel experience
• Positive attitude towards problem-solving
• Excellent customer service skills, adaptable to client needs
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed and assist with other accounting tasks, such as payroll or financial reporting.
