Payroll Executive - c.£28k + £3k annual bonus - Hybrid working (home/Chester office).
Working within a larger team, you will ensure accurate and timely outsourced payroll production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations.
You will have previous payroll experience with a keen eye for detail and enjoy working within a team. This role will be varied, and you will work with numerous clients so there is a strong focus on client relationships and customer care.
About the role
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll end-to-end production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations within payroll deadlines and requirements
- Service multiple clients as part of a team effort to deliver excellent service to our clients
- Manage payroll deadlines and requirements of your own personal portfolio of payroll clients
- Ensure you have up to date knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations by attending in-house training courses
- Manage import/export of new employee and timesheet data onto the payroll platform, including:
o Starters
o Leavers
o Absences and work plans
o Variations and adjustments
o Salary changes
o Changes to benefits and allowances and different contract types
o Child Care Voucher schemes
o Pension deductions
- Process statutory payments
- Generate payroll reports, P45s etc., using our in-house systems and Microsoft Excel
- Distribute payslips to multiple platforms
- Submit reports to HMRC via RTI
- Manage client billing
- Ensure procedures and key control documents are kept up to date for auditing purposes
- Any other ad hoc duties as required
About the ideal candidate
You will have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working within a team. This is a varied role so you will need to be adaptable and able to use your knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations, including workplace pensions. You will be a natural communicator, who is able to communicate with people at all levels - both internal and external. We are also looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:

Requirements - Essential
- Previous payroll experience
- Demonstrable understanding of UK tax legislation
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Knowledge of month-end and year-end returns and balancing
- Ability to perform manual calculations, as and when required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience of working to strict deadlines
