£35 000 - £38 000 dependant on experience

Key Duties for Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner:
- Facilitate PBS and physical interventions training to operational teams, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring teams to upskill them, and ensure they are focused on enhancing the quality of life of people we support, reducing the use of restrictive practices
- Support operational teams in completing behaviour assessments and specific support plans
- Quality assure the implementation of PBS across all specialist settings
- Support with completing referral/support assessments, and the transition of people moving into the company’s services
- Contribute to debriefs after challenging incidents to ensure a thorough analysis is conducted, lessons learned established and risk assessments/PBS plans are updated
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, families, circles of support and the person in order to support operational teams
- Support operational teams to develop good practice-based case studies and ensuring these are updated and shared as required.
Job requirements for Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner:
- The post-holder will use their expertise to support in the following key areas:
- Behavioural assessments, including functional analyses, and provide interpretations of the results
- Produce PBS planning
- Provide PBS advice, consultation and guidance
- Key work with one child/young person, delivering PBS interventions in their home, school, in the community and other support service settings, including directly supporting the child/young person, modelling good practice and providing guidance to their parents, teachers and a range of other professionals.
- Ongoing training and coaching in relation to Active Support, PBS and physical intervention techniques
- Good experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, and associated complex needs, and challenging behaviour within a residential or supported living setting.
- If you hold a training qualification to teach management and intervention techniques to cope with escalating behaviour e.g., MAPA, NAPPI or ECC&R UK, this is an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent training delivery and presentation skills, and good working knowledge of evaluation techniques to aid in programme improvement and personal development.
