About the role
We wish to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Physical Education. The successful candidate will be expected to teach concepts via a range of different sports and activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a supportive yet challenging work environment. You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team of professional staff. If you are committed to growing professionally and want to make a difference to young people’s lives through sport, then this opportunity could be for you.
As a PE teacher, you will support the delivery of the highest quality PE, sport and physical activity programmes to all pupils. You will teach PE from years 1 – 11, lead co-curricular sport and school teams from KS2 – 4, as well as have the opportunity to teach GCSE and A Level PE.
This post will suit an ECT or someone who is fairly early on in their career.
You may be asked to complete minibus driver training if you are successful; having a D1 qualification would be an advantage as this role will include taking sports teams to fixtures offsite.
What you will be doing
- Successfully teaching PE up to GSCE
- Contribution to the schools thriving extra-curricular programme.
- Leading fixtures and after school training sessions for many sports teams across the three terms
- Planning and teaching core PE and Games lessons
- Conducting regular assessments of classes and reporting these to the Director of Sport.
- Contribution during department meetings through sharing best practice.
