Peer Mentor
Adferiad Recovery delivers a flexible and coordinated response to the exceptional circumstances faced by people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions and related issues. Vulnerable people facing complex life challenges need consistent and seamless support to ensure they remain engaged with vital health and wellbeing services – and to prevent them becoming disenfranchised and isolated.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (normally 9-5, but flexibility required)
Salary: £23,409 per annum
Holidays: 25 days per year plus 8 public holidays (pro rata)
Based at: Gwynedd & Ynys Mon

Project overview:
Cyfle Cymru is a Peer Mentoring project which helps people develop confidence to make positive life changes, and provides support to access training, education, volunteering and employment. Our Peer Mentors draw on their own lived experience to support people affected by substance misuse and/or mental health conditions. Cyfle Cymru will support people aged 16 to 24 (Not in education, employment or training) and those 25+ that are economically inactive or long term unemployed.
Job Purpose:
- Provide support and guidance to all participants that have been registered onto the project
- To develop ongoing action plans with participants which will be reviewed on a regular basis
- To provide one to one support and group activities to aid the development of a participant in their recovery
- Work alongside the team structure in delivering services and outcomes for the scheme
- To achieve project targets and outcomes set by Welsh Government
- To support the team leader and referral agents in raising awareness of the service
- To work in partnership with other practitioners to deliver effective interventions and support for people with Mental Health and/or substance misuse
- Provide support and supervision to volunteers
