SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS GREATER MANCHESTER & LANCASHIRE
We require a Bank Social Worker to provide high quality social work services in schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will respond to the unmet needs of children and young people who are referred to the service through direct work, advocacy, information gathering, assessment, developing supportive plans, family support and liaison.
You will provide a supportive and reflective space for children and young people in identifying areas for positive change within the school and/or home environment. You will liaise between home and school while working around the range of issues which can affect education for children and young people with the aim of supporting the child and family to engage further.
For the position you must have registered social worker status with Social Work England (SWE) and have experience of working with children and families, as well as supporting school staff with safeguarding.
You must have competent IT skills, as well as the ability to provide one to one sessions and group work based on the resources, guidance and tool kits of accredited programmes adapted by the Schools service.
