Leading Accountancy firm with offices based in Gatwick seek a Pensions Administrator/Technician
As part of the Pensions Team you will provide data management support in the time-critical delivery of specific projects relating to the company’s contracted-out defined benefit scheme. You will also provide in-house maintenance of the defined benefit scheme data in the pensions administration system and in non-systems based records.
Core Duties will include the following:
- To assist in and support the in-house administration of the company’s defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.
- Working with the Pensions Director, primarily to deliver pension data related projects
relating to data rectifications e.g. GMPe and Barber audit of and corrections to scheme data - To maintain ongoing accuracy of the DB scheme data in both Profund and in non-systems based records
- To take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of Defined Benefits scheme data in:
- Audit of input of data accuracy
- Encouraging adoption of a consistency of approach to data management
- Querying any data inputting where there is any concern as to its correctness
- Using initiative to suggest changes to improve administration practices
- To liaise with the Profund provider, ITM, on systems fixes and upgrades, including testing of such changes
- To assist in delivery of the Pensions Dashboard Project
- To work as a member of the in-house pensions team in the administration of the company’s closed DB and open DC schemes:
- To build a good working knowledge of the pension schemes and associated processes
- To acquire a good knowledge and understanding of the DB scheme rules and DB/DC scheme literature
- To diligently adhere to the work management processes
- To use Profund and Excel in DB member benefit calculations
- To assist in DB member case work such as leavers, retirements, transfer outs and deaths
- To work in collaboration with your team colleagues to achieve a high level of administration and service to company staff and scheme membersLI1
Ideal Candidates must have the following skills and experience:
- At least 2/3 years pensions administration experience
- Extensive experience of GMP in one or more of: reconciliations, equalisations, governance etc
- Database and systems management
- Data analysis and management
- Ability to perform and audit manual benefit calculations
- Technically proficient in operational pensions administration
- Data base and systems management including ability to test programs, correct errors and make changes
Software - Essential - Excel, Word, Outlook
- Desirable - Profund P3
- Used to meeting deadlines in a busy working environment
- Strong data analytical skills, working with large data sets
- High level of computer literacy, particularly strong Excel skills (tools and formulae)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
