This role has a starting salary of £24,977 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

This role is a 6-month fixed term contract.

This role is open to hybrid working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. 

The Surrey Pension Fund is part of the national Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

About the Role

We are recruiting two Pensions Trainees to help us achieve our goals. Reporting directly to the Membership & Data Quality manager, you will predominantly undertake operational work with specific responsibility for the processing of case work for new entrants and leavers of the scheme, assist with recording and logging of post and hard copy communications, and support the wider teams across the Surrey Pension Service where required.

You will have a strong foundation in numeracy alongside a track record of excellent customer service and organisational skills. This role would be suited to an individual with a keen eye for detail, a methodical approach, and outstanding problem-solving skills.


Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Minimum 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level.
  • Competency in a range of IT tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work at pace
  • Ability to work with others to achieve objectives and provide excellent customer service.
