People Business Partner
We are recruiting a People Business Partner (PBP) covering the John D Wood & Co business (including APW & CHK Mountford). As our People Business Partner, you will be responsible for the onboarding of all employees, updating and processing contract changes throughout their career journey. The PBP will work alongside the leadership team in proposing and making internal policy changes and ensuring that the approach is aligned with supporting our employees at all times, in line with business strategy. The role would be well suited to someone with HR experience/knowledge, but not essential. This role will provide a link between John D Wood & Co. and Connells Group.
About the role:
The successful People Business Partner will directly report into the EA to the Managing Director and will be responsible for:
- Paperwork for all new starters.
- Paperwork for all leavers.
- Change of Terms paperwork (COT’s).
- Contracts - restrictive covenants, updating employee salary documents for internal use.
- Processing of Flexible Working Requests.
- First point of contact for staff with HR queries within the John D Wood & Co family.
- Maintain employee files.
- Maintain salary records.
- Upload People Policies to our intranet Engage.
- Update internal policies for people as per business requirement.
- Manage staff list/contact details.
- Maintaining and reporting holidays and absences.
- Staff photos.
- Order IT equipment via the Business Relationship team for employees.
- Work alongside Business Relationship teams, managing fleet relationships, and organising vehicles for new starters as appropriate.
- Liaising with Group HR & Payroll.
- Ad hoc duties relating to People support as and when required.
Skills and experience:
The successful People Business Partner will have the following attributes:
- Previous experience within an administrative setting.
- Ideally previous HR experience/knowledge.
- Smartly presented and able to handle a stakeholder facing role, both face to face and over the telephone.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to ensure nothing is missed, and all electronic files are kept in good order.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate and an excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
