People Services Manager

Our client, an organic family farm, has an exciting opportunity for a People Services Manager to join their team!
The role:
- Use external insight and best practice to develop and implement service strategy
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, working collaboratively to ensure service provision is well defined and continues to meet evolving business requirements. Key stakeholders include HR Director, Manufacturing Director, Supply Chain Director and People Leadership team
- Lead and motivate the People Services team, providing inspiration and support through regular high-quality coaching conversations to ensure high performance and accountability within the team
- Build a high performing People Services team that drives results through a simple, easy to understand structure that enables great decision making
- Ensure service review practices embedded to provide effective governance and assessment of service delivery. This will include the development, maintenance and embedding of key tools including service catalogue, service level agreements, escalation routes, KPIs and management information reporting capabilities
- Drive operational performance and excellence within the People Services team and monitor performance of the team against defined performance/quality standards across all areas of delivery including payroll, HR administration, data and systems governance and related reporting
- Keep up to date with all payroll and personal data legislation (GDPR) to ensure ongoing compliance
- Act as custodian of People data held within core systems limiting access appropriately to People Services and HR team
- Ensure compliance with GDPR internal reporting processes and ensure resolution of queries and potential breaches
- Act as point of escalation with ICO if appropriate
- Act as first point of contact for escalation of queries for the People Services team, employees, People Managers and HRBPs using judgement and experience to resolve or escalate further as required (in line with formally agreed policies, procedures and ways of working)
- Demonstrate ability to drive ongoing improvements through standardizing, automating and consolidating processes in support of our strategic goals
- To ensure all payroll is calculated, reported and paid correctly and on time to co-owners
- To ensure all related regulatory payments and reports are submitted accurately and on time (including HMRC RTI submissions, tax, pension and deduction payments)
- Manage risk by ensuring the team operate in accordance with defined policies and procedures and within the RAG risk matrix.

- HR/payroll experience, including an understanding of GDPR
- Good numerical and academic level of education and good IT skills (particularly MS Office)
Desirable:
- A payroll and/or HR qualification
- Experience of the food manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of iTrent
