Why this job matters
The role holder will lead on measuring Performance & providing insights within the product roadmap directorate, facilitating policy discussion and development. He/she will lead on Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and establish reporting mechanisms as well as providing input into the Annual Operating Plan / MTP processes to help ensure SMART objectives are set.
Where appropriate, the role holder will also be responsible for ensuring opportunities/risks, are identified and that suitable actions are recommended across the business. He/she Will be expected to work cross BT, working closely with Business, Digital and other relevant communities, minimising rework, and ensuring consistency in measurement approaches.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, communicate, track and report OKRs (Time, Cost, Quality / Customer) across Business Portfolio, Transformation & Digital
- Own and manage CDO scorecard, ensuring regular refresh and director level alignment.
- Establish Lean Portfolio programme office tracking initiatives / projects / programmes across teams and functions
- Own development of product performance dashboard, producing insights to inform investment strategy
- Undertake statistical analysis of past Investments - Identify common themes, trends and early warning Indicators.
- Support process development to feed insights into live investment decisions
- Work with market unit sales, finance directorate to provide a definitive view of deals in the pipeline reliant on portfolio development/investments
- Own reporting automation & simplification, enabling self-service and data interrogation
- Support the development of a Portfolio Vision, aligned to Strategic themes and associated guardrails
- Support overall governance and key MD Engagements including Quarterly Bookends, Business & Unit Reviews.
- Maintain a wide network within and across the business, engaging with and presenting to senior stakeholder communities
You'll have the following skills and experience
- Proven experience of stakeholder management, and influencing skills at a senior level
- Will be adept at extracting key ‘signals’ and translating these into actionable intelligence for senior management.
- Confident at challenging, influencing, and negotiating with senior managers on a regular basis.
- Project management – able to balance numerous competing priorities, with impact at Line of Business level.
- Exceptional organisational skills. Able to lead others, think ahead and anticipate challenges before they happen
- High level of business acumen and excellent commercial experience – be able articulate risk assessment and impact
- Inspiring communicator - Able to craft and deliver compelling communications for all levels, both within and outside BT.
- Agile Frameworks: Demonstrated understanding of the principles, components and features of Agile frameworks, with a continuous learning approach to new concepts and best practices.
- Be proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel and SharePoint) and Data visualisation tools (Tableau)
