Warwickshire County Council are looking to recruit a Social Worker for an exciting role of supporting Permanency and exploring Boarding School opportunities for Children in Care.

The Roleand Key Requirements
Do you have experience in progressing care plans for children in care?
Do you have knowledge of permanency plans for children in care?
Are you committed to finding new solutions for children in care?
Can you build relationships with Boarding Schools and external providers of education and care?
Do you want to support Social workers across the county to progress children's plan?
We are looking for a Social worker who is passionate about children in care and who believes that our children in care deserve the best opportunity to thrive.
This Social Worker should be organised and meticulous. Part of their role is to track and monitor children in care who have not achieved permanency. You will work with the Service Managers across all children's teams and the children in care team as well as multi-agency working with Adoption Central England, Virtual Schools and Health.
You will work on a one-to-one basis with Social workers across the county to support them to progress plans of adoption, SGO, long term fostering, reunification or discharging of care orders.
You will oversee where our children are living and the patterns of the moves they have, monitor the data for our children in care population and report this back to SLT and Ofsted. You will also be the point of contact with regards to coding and ensuring our children in care data is correct and up to date, addressing any barriers to this.
You will attend Through Care Panel to support the multi-agency work to progress permanency for children in care. You will be the county's point of contact for all things permanency including Boarding Schools along with the other permanency Social worker in the team.
As part of the County Council strategy this role will be pivotal in bringing education and children in care together. We know that children in care can achieve great things in education, that’s why we want a dedicated individuals to explore options, find the right Boarding School and support children who are being cared for in a different and innovative way.
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and motivated child focused Social worker to help us improve the outcomes for our young people, ensuring their voice is heard and remains central within our decision-making processes.
Within this role you will hold a small caseload of children in Boarding Schools and aim to establish and maintain links with the education sector, charities and 3rd sector organisations to ensure children in care receive the best bespoke education packages available. We want our practitioner to spend their time building relationships with families to achieve change.
