As a Senior Permanency SupportSocial Worker, you will mainly be responsible for the management, prioritisation, and response to requests for adoption information.

You will also be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks in relation to Adoption Support Services.  This will include completing timely, evidence based, adoption support assessments, providing quality therapeutic support, liaise with other professionals, signpost, and refer adopted children and their parents to targeted services where necessary.  There is the opportunity to be involved in the preparation and delivery of training to adopters and colleagues in a range of areas related to adoption services.

Whilst there is the opportunity for some home-based working, the Permanency Support Team provides a county wide service, and you will be required to travel to various locations across the Together4Children Permanency Partnership Region.  There is a requirement to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends on a planned basis.

  • An ability to work independently and manage the requests for access to adoption records that the team receives.
  • Have a thorough understanding of attachment, separation, trauma and child development.
  • The ability to work in partnership with other agencies across the country.
