Job Introduction

The Children in Care and Care Leavers service consists of a team of senior practitioners, social workers and Personal Advisors (PA) across Stafford and South Staffordshire. 

As a leaving care Personal Advisor, you will be responsible for providing practical support, advice and guidance to young people leaving our care. 

The role can be either a 12 month secondment for internal applicants or 12 month fixed term for external applicants. 

Main Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside professionals from a range of disciplines including, social workers, probation services, police, accommodation providers, housing, welfare benefits, mental health professionals, substance misuse services and foundations to employment. 

Through these multiple relationships you will help prepare young adults to ensure they are supported within their journey to independence. Working within the corporate parenting principles you will empower young adults to develop skills to prepare them for their futures.

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants must have significant experience of working with children / young people and be flexible, have good communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other professionals, be solution focused to achieve best outcomes for our young people. Driving is an essential part of this role.
