I am looking for personal care for a Child
Drivers licence required: Yes
Own vehicle needed: Yes
Hours per week: 5 hours per week term time and 7 hours per week in the school holidays. Days and times negotiable.
Hourly pay rate: £12.40 per hour.
Mileage expenses:45p per mile
Our 8-year-old son is a happy, laid-back boy. He loves cuddles. He likes animals, going to the park, and loves a bit of shopping! We are looking for a calm and fun PA to help him safely experience the world and go on new adventures. Our son has Autism and is a very visual person. He is non-verbal, but he is more than capable of letting you know his wants and feelings through physical action/expressions. It would be great to have someone with experience of working with Autistic children.
Duties include
Personal grooming
Eating and drinking assistance
Moving and handling
Other relevant duties as required
Transportation
Companionship
Dressing / undressing
Bathroom assistance
Nappy changes
Monitoring risks when out and about e.g. road safety and act appropriately
Plan, research and suggest ideas for new activities/experiences.
Candidate qualities:

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Experience of working with Autistic children is preferred
Additional requirements Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
