About the role:
Part of the role will allow you to build effective partnerships and external organisations who will provide guest speaker delivery and lead on the learner voice activity To provide innovative and engaging Personal Development support to:
* ensure learners survive, thrive and progress;
* deliver group tutorials and targeted one-to-one tutorials for higher risk learners;
* monitor and intervene to support learners at risk of drop out or underachievement
* ensure effective communication and liaison to support learners;
* provide learners with a clear line of sight to employment, self-employment or HE; developing their confidence and relevant skills in order to get there;
* safeguarding and a culture of excellence and equality; and
* reflect the vision, mission, aims and values of the College.
Person Specification:
In this role ideally, experience within an educational environment setting would be preferred, ideally within the Further Education/Post - 16 environment, but this is not essential. You will be working as a team with the responsibility of organising, co-ordinating, promoting and delivering on the events to help deliver essential life and personal skills of the learners.
You will hold minimum qualifications in English and Maths at level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent, and a Level 2 qualification in Guidance/counselling or similar (preferred not required). You also need to demonstrate a good standard of customer service skills with the ability to work with respect and confidentiality.
Departmental Information:
The role of the Personal Development Tutor will be working with a team based on site, you will work with colleagues in similar positions across other campuses to enable a consistent approach to events, delivery and offerings. You will report to the Student Support Team Leader and work collaboratively with the Student Support Team onsite. You will also be expected to liaise with curriculum managers and tutors ensuring learners have access to appropriate Personal Development opportunities individually tailored.
