Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Personal Lines Underwriter to join our Underwriting team on a permanent basis. You will work with the UW Risk & Supplier Lead to ensure that risks relating to UW are managed, underwriting department is compliant with core policies, product governance and regulatory controls and Support delivering UW projects.

You will support in maximising the value of esure by developing and maintaining existing relationships with third party suppliers to deliver a quality, cost effective service for our customers and business.
What you'll do:

  • Support esure’s underwriting product and pricing projects.
  • Work with the UW Risk & Supplier Lead in identifying key improvements within underwriting.
  • Support the operational day to day management of relationships with Underwriting suppliers including SLA performance. Initiate, onboard and manage suppliers.
  • Support the UW Risk & Supplier Lead in the delivery of Underwriting initiatives.
  • Monitor Underwriting department compliance with core policies and regulatory controls.
  • Input to the development and delivery of product roadmaps and market penetration projections.
  • Support the UW Risk & Supplier Lead in the development and implementation supplier strategy, incorporating the identification of potential business opportunities and threats across this segment.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the market, including competitors/distributors. Undertake competitor product reviews.
  • Eliminate pain points for customers, challenge how the industry operates and promote a positive force for Fixing Insurance for Good
  • Use data/technology to deliver intelligence throughout customer lifetime to become a market leader and drive exponential growth and excellent customer outcomes.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?:

  • Underwriting experience (ideally across Risk and Governance) in a regulatory environment.
  • Strong supplier management or account management skills.
  • Experience of delivery of underwriting and pricing projects.
  • Ability to interpret management information, performance data and statistical analysis.
  • Influencing and reasoning skills to champion proposals and to challenge current thinking where appropriate.
  • Experience of using products and propositions to drive customer appeal and loyalty.
  • Ability to identify and anticipate potential business opportunities/threats.
