Band 4 – Salary Range £27,598 - £30,019
Can also be offered as a development opportunity at Band 3 (annex 20)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for a well-organised and enthusiastic individual to join our Pharmacy team, as a Pharmacy Procurement Officer.
This post can also be offered as a development opportunity at Band 3 for an initial period of supervision and mentorship, with progression to Band 4, following completion of the full skills and competencies required of the post. Band 3 - Salary Range £25,468 – £27,486.
Your role in the Pharmacy team will be to provide a cost effective, efficient, medicines and pharmaceutical products procurement service to NHS Shetland. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all purchasing is the most economical for the organisation by utilising National Services Scotland contracts. Other duties include investigating and sourcing alternative products as a result of manufacturing difficulties or other supply problems and processing pharmacy invoices for payment.
To successful candidate will need to have at least 2 years previous experience of working in a procurement role and be educated to a higher grade level. Experience of working in an NHS environment including NHS purchasing procedures and policies is desirable. Knowledge of pharmaceutical products is an advantage but not essential.
