We currently have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will deliver a high quality, safe and effective pharmacy service to our community health and mental health services across our sites in Berkshire. This role is a developmental post and will give you the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge both in the dispensary and in a ward-based environment. Your starting grade will depend on your existing knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
We are a small friendly team, based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading where our dispensary is located. You will have the opportunity to work at our community hospitals across Berkshire including Slough, Newbury, Wokingham, Maidenhead and Reading, as well as on the mental health wards at Prospect Park hospital.
Our working hours are currently 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday with you also working a late shift in the dispensary on a rota basis, which means no nights or weekends. We offer free parking on site.
• This is a joint role, split between the dispensary and our wards.
• Delivering a fast and effective pharmacy services to the wards and departments
• Completing accuracy checking session(s)
• Providing an admission, supply, and discharge service to nominated wards.
• Checking Patients’ Own Drugs (PODs).
• Undertaking medicines reconciliation.
• Discharge planning and supporting patients to ensure that they get the best possible outcomes from their medicines.
• Providing a ward top-up service
• Working with the clozapine clinic team to ensure medicines are ready for the Trust wide clinics.
• Developing skills and knowledge as part of a commitment to CPD and Clinical Supervision
• Providing support to Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and support workers while they undertake their learning.
