We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.

You will also have some experience managing the commissioning process, from planning and scheduling to briefing, negotiating rates and rights, and overseeing post-production. Working with the Photography Lead, you will play a key role in promoting best practices and ensuring we are following our image and brand guidelines, especially when it comes to the ethics of content gathering and image use.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Photography Lead in delivering high-quality imagery to fundraising, campaigning, and media teams.
  • Edit image packages, ensuring compliance with brand, legal, child safeguarding, and consent requirements, and timely upload to our internal photo archive (Content Hub).
  • Research and disseminate picture packages from our archive and online stock agencies for print and digital platforms.
  • Distribute engaging images promptly to internal teams via various channels, especially during rapid onset emergencies.
  • Commission freelance photographers, manage briefs, budgets, schedules, and post-production processes.
  • Upload, keyword, and caption picture content to our in-house archive, negotiating usage fees and image rights.
  • Collaborate with the Studio team and Creative Development Managers to identify photographic needs and prioritize commissions.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

  • Significant experience in photo editing, researching, cataloguing, basic retouching, and picture buying.
  • Demonstrable budget management and negotiation skills with photographers and agencies.
  • Advanced skills in image manipulation, understanding image reproduction and varying formats.
  • Proven ability to interpret organizational needs, edit images to meet brand requirements, and pitch visual solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of visual communications in the development sector and up-to-date legalities regarding image gathering and use.
  • Proficient in both Macs and PCs, with expertise in Photoshop, Lightroom, and digital content platforms.
  • Professional photography skills and experience in commissioning and delivering photo shoots.

Whatever your story is we want to hear it because we know that different voices, ideas, perspectives and knowledge, working together will enable us to better the lives of children around the world. This is the reason why we are all here.
