Pipe Stress Engineer – Marine / Defence
Devonport – Hybrid working.
Rate – Up to �100p/h (Outside IR35)
Contract length – 6 -12 months
About the role:
Astute’ s Nuclear team is partnering with a Large UK defence client to recruit a Pipe Stress Engineer on a 6–12-month contract for its Devonport site. As the Pipe Stress Engineer, you’ll be part of the Weld Integrity Group and be responsible Pipe Stress analysis for the major inputs to these FFS assessments.
The Principal Welding Engineer role comes with rate of between �75p/h - �100p/h (DOE).
Key skills:
* Conduct Fitness for Service (FFS) Assessments, such as Engineering Critical Assessment, fillet weld strength checks, as well as wall thinning assessments.
* Multiple Pipe Stress analyses checks
* Work in conjunction with companies Integrity Management System (IMS)
* Authoring of technical engineering reports/proposals for Pipe Stress analysis.
* Competent with Pipe Stress analysis software and be able to complete the modelling of pipe systems on submarine platforms.
* The applicant must be a British National and be capable of holding NNPPI, PSA and Atomic security clearances.
* BEng or above in an applicable engineering discipline
* Prior experience in the use of Bentley autopipe, or with enough experience undertaking Pipe Stress analysis
Location, remuneration and timeframe of the PMO Manager role:
* Based in Devonport – hybrid working.
* Role is Outside IR35 and is paying up to �100p/h (DOE)
* Role required SC/DV security Clerance.
* Will be a 6–12-month contract.
