An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Place Planning and Sufficiency Team. The role will provide support to the work of early years / school Place Planning and sufficiency and manage a coordinated approach to ensuring sufficient early years and educational provision for children aged 0 – 19 or up to 25 where a young person has a special educational need and/or is disabled and/or is a looked after child.
The role includes (see the job description for full detail):
- Monitoring net capacity and sufficiency across all educational sectors
- Forecasting the future need for school places via the analysis of demographic and other data
- Working closely with relevant teams and partners to support the Local Authority in meeting sufficiency for educational places
- Producing documents for a range of audiences, including briefings and reports for the Place Planning and Sufficiency Board
- Providing advice and supporting school re-organisations and school capital schemes
- Advising on the statutory process in relation to the consultation on admission arrangements
- Supporting the management of academisation processes for remaining maintained schools
- Supporting the delivery of school admissions appeals
