Job Description HERE Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) having campuses across the United Kingdom, is looking for a Placement Manager across all campuses based in Birmingham campus. JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate, source, administer and oversee work placements for under-graduate students on the Health and Social Care and Business programmes. To work with Academics department, students and employers to maximise opportunities and ensure that all of the stakeholders’ needs are being met. To ensure that all the KPI’s of placement are met to the expectation of Scholars School System and our delivery Partners. Flexible and responsive to changing demands and to proactively meet deadlines and targets. Fully committed to inclusive practices and excellent understanding of good practices with respect to diversity and inclusion. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To coordinate, source, administer and oversee work placement activities for undergraduate students that are well matched to the students after mandatory H&S check of the work placement premises. To carry out business development activities in order to source suitable employers to host placement students. To consult with employers in order to ensure that placements meet the requirements as specified by the programme leaders and comply with the relevant Health and Safety vetting and Health and Safety guidelines. To facilitate the full recruitment cycle including advertising opportunities to students, shortlisting candidates, screening applicants, briefing candidates face to face and over the phone, arranging interviews, providing feedback and making offers. Ensuring that all contractual paperwork is completed by students, employers and Academics. To monitor placements responding promptly to student and employer enquiries or issues. To liaise with students, employers, academic and support staff to ensure that all of their needs are being met and that the placement is compliant. To build and maintain long term relationships with host organisations in order to increase future opportunities for students. To undertake any other duties at the request of line manager that are commensurate with the post. To take a flexible approach to work (attendance at early morning and evening meetings will be required). To work in accordance with SSS organisational policies. To support Placement Officers to develop new opportunities for different types of placements, building on established partnership with academic teams, students and placement providers to ensure a high-quality service is delivered. Someone with strong understanding of the work placement process and the value of placements for students. A good understanding of Higher Education employability landscape and the needs and experience of students is key. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline (Essential) Experience in similar job role. Experience & Position: Work experience in Higher Education Experience in dealing with the students Ideally 2 years’ experience in similar role Proven track records in student placement
