The Role

Lancaster City Council is pleased to offer a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated individual to join our Development Management Team. The role has become vacant due to career progression within the Service.

The successful candidate with be case officer for a range of applications across a diverse district. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, capable of working to deadlines and able to respond effectively to fluctuations in workload.

Previous experience in development management (whether the public or private sector) is required and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and make sound robust decisions on time.

A full current UK driving licence is essential. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees’ driving licence data.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

You will be based at Lancaster Town Hall with hybrid working options.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
