This is a full time post, assisting the Planning Enforcement Team Leader in the delivery of an effective and efficient planning enforcement service.
Key duties will include:
- Proactive action to ensure compliance with conditions imposed on planning permissions and to monitor developments to ensure compliance with approvals and any formal notices served
- Investigate allegations and enquiries of breaches of planning control
- Process Appeals
- Manage and coordinate site visits
- Deal with telephone enquiries from members of the public and elected Members
- Draft witness statements
Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience in planning enforcement and / or development management within a Local Authority in the UK.
Furthermore, you will have developed a thorough knowledge of UK planning legislation, enforcement procedures and have excellent written and communication skills.
You should have a degree or equivalent in planning or a related environmental subject. Membership or eligibility for Membership of the RTPI is Essential. A driving licence valid to drive in the UK and use of your own vehicle during working hours is essential in order to carry out site visits across the district.
