About the Job:
Work as part of a team to deliver the Corporation’s Planning Enforcement function.
Key Information:
Contract duration: 3 months (possibility for extension
Location: Wembley, (2 days each week in the office)
Hourly Pay rate: £31.35 PAYE or £40.18 Umbrella
Working days: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
• Support: Assist the Head of Planning Enforcement and Compliance and other Planning Officers in ensuring compliance with Section 106 agreements and planning conditions by providing informed advice.
• Enforcement Coordination: Organize and manage enforcement cases effectively to meet performance targets, considering policy and legal advice.
• Investigations and Solutions: Analyse casework and develop solutions aligned with local Planning and Enforcement policies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly engage with internal and external stakeholders, providing evidence for examinations, inquiries, and appeals related to Planning Enforcement.
• Public Inquiries: Respond to public inquiries about the corporation’s enforcement processes and timelines.
• Communication: Draft briefings, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Collaboration: Liaise with host boroughs, High Speed 2 Ltd, and other relevant teams on Planning Enforcement, environmental impacts, and fire safety.
• Relationship Management: Develop and manage professional relationships with external stakeholders.
• Strategic Contribution: Work across boundaries to contribute to non-planning strategy and overall organizational success.
• Positive Representation: Represent the Planning function and broader Corporation objectives positively.
• Continuous Improvement: Explore new internal procedures for Planning Enforcement in alignment with existing policies.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Appropriate planning qualification and/ or substantial Planning Enforcement experience. Ideally eligible for membership of the RTPI together with a record of continuing professional development.
- Good understanding of the working environment of a local planning authority.
- An understanding of the local, regional and national planning policy context and legislative framework.
