Hays Specialist Recruitment Belfast are working with our client, Ards & North Down Borough Council to source a Town Planner for contract vacancy based in Newtownards.

Your new role
This is a contract position for an initial period of 6 months with the potential for extension and to become open for permanent appointment.
Based from Ards & North Down BC’s office in Newtownards, you will work alongside an experienced team of Planning professionals while being supported and managed by the Service Unit Manager for Development Management.The main purpose of the role is processing of planning applications primarily householder/residential extensions, advertisement consents, listed building consents, non-material change applications and discharge of conditions applications.A full job description can be provided.

What you'll need to succeed
A degree and minimum of 6 months experience working in a planning environment.

OR

An HNC or equivalent qualification is held and a minimum of two years’ experience working in a planning environment.

AND

Experience in the preparation and presentation of planning application reports in relation to development and enforcement planning matters.

Salary £33,076 pro rata / £17.64 per hour.

Hybrid working, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
