Job description

ChampionX has a requirement for a Plant Manager to join our Supply Chain team in Aberdeen. If you are a driven, dedicated professional with a proven track record of success we invite you to apply.

You will be responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations. You will manage annual budget planning and execution as well as facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvement. You will manage the production, technical, logistics, maintenance and SHE teams to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation and partner with sales, quality, procurement and other support functions, to ensure great customer service, waste reduction and cost control.

What You Will Do:

  • Building an aspirational vision for your plant aligned to the global supply chain (GSC) strategy and reflecting your individual plant’s compelling business needs (CBN)
  • Setting clear expectations of desired behaviours/goals and holding the team to them. Promoting excellence, respect, dignity, honesty and adherence to Company Code of Business Principles
  • Setting the expectation that goal zero is achievable for both personnel and process safety related incidents. All accidents and near misses are thoroughly investigated
  • Maintain sites low tier COMAH compliance
  • Coaching and inspiring your team towards high performance. Promoting teamwork and cross-functional team collaboration
  • Customer delivery performance requirements are well understood and everyone knows their role in meeting targets
  • All product leaving the plant meets quality specifications
  • All Customer Service issues and complaints are immediately acted upon, investigated promptly and outcomes are fed back and documented
  • Site inventory Days On Hand is optimised without impacting delivery performance
  • Managing the annual budget and continuously researching ways to reduce cost.
  • Encouraging and promoting operating in a continuous improvement environment, engage associates in lean manufacturing techniques to identify the root causes of all losses and eliminate them, improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
  • Ensuring all plant & equipment is maintained in optimum condition

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or with Chemistry Specialization; Process or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in both managerial and production positions
  • Experience in the handling of chemicals along with ISO & OHSAS certifications
  • 3 years’ experience working as Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager or Production Supervisor in chemical environment
  • Action-oriented and able to drive results by engaging the plant team; able to plan, prioritise and take timely decisions; customer-focused and able to instil trust; collaborative; resilient, able to drive change and lead Lean Manufacturing; Capable and willing to build and mobilise their teams.
