Plant Operative

Salary: £22,212.15 plus Veolia benefits

Location: Brighton Material Recovery Facility, BN1 7BB

Hours: Working to a seasonal rota/shift system which includes evenings & weekend working

Winter (1st October - 31st March)

AM x 4, Rest Day x 2, PM x 4, Rest Day x 2 Shift Pattern

06:15-14:45 / PM 09:30-18:00

Summer (1st April - 30th September)

AM x 4, Rest Day x 2, PM x 4, Rest Day x 2 Shift Pattern

06:15-14:45 / PM 13:30-22:00

What will you be doing?

• Issue instructions to drivers of vehicles entering and leaving site/tipping halls
• Provide support to the leadership team, Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) team and Waste Transfer Station (WTS) team and carry out other such duties as may be required
• Housekeeping and light maintenance (cleaning, litter picking, painting, etc.) of the Tipping Halls and external areas of the site
• Provide cover during breaks to assist the site operations, particularly in Traffic Control, Weighbridge and Mobile Plant roles (subject to training provided)
• Completing daily site inspections and reporting defects/issues as required

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience within a similar operational role / busy warehouse type of experience
• Good IT skills (word processing, spreadsheets)
• Experience operating Mobile Plant (loading shovels, excavators, forklifts) is desirable
• Weighbridge experience desirable
