Job Description:

As an Outreach PMLD Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding education and support to students with PMLD. You will work closely with a diverse range of students, aged between 3 and 19 years, in their homes or educational settings. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement individualised educational plans, tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify individual learning needs and develop appropriate learning goals.
• Planning and delivering engaging, multi-sensory lessons and activities that promote the development of communication, cognition, and physical skills.
• Working collaboratively with parents/carers, school staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and progress.
• Monitoring and evaluating student progress, providing regular feedback, and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
• Employing exsisting technology, adaptive equipment, and sensory resources to enhance the learning experience.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress, achievements, and any additional support required.
• Keeping up to date with the latest research, best practices, and developments in the field of PMLD education.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
• Specialisation or experience in working with students with PMLD is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of alternative communication methods and assistive technology.
• Strong understanding of individualised educational planning and differentiation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with PMLD.
• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo the process.
