Role / Department Overview
Ashurst's Change & Business Improvement function is maturing and expanding their PMO service offering and are looking for a highly motivated individual to join team to support the governance of project delivery across Ashurst. This is a hands-on role requiring a can-do attitude and is suited to someone who is looking for variety.
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supporting the coordination of the strategic initiatives across Ashurst globally.
- Providing governance oversight of CBI's portfolio of projects and programmes in accordance with the associated frameworks and processes, including running project health checks.
- Be a central point of contact for the CBI PMO and Project Management frameworks, process, procedures and initiatives, ensuring they are updated and are continuously improved.
- Monitor and track progress of CBI's portfolio for reporting purposes, centrally logging relevant items and escalating as appropriate to the PMO Lead and/ or Head of CBI.
- Support the Director and Head of CBI as well as the PMO Lead to co-ordinate for the Change Request Panel, firm's Initiatives Review Group and Investment Committee meetings (scheduling, preparing meeting packs, capturing actions & decisions, post meeting communications and action follow-up).
- Maintain and manage a central programme and projects register
- Support the Project Accountant and Project Managers to enforce the project accounting principles, help understand budget allocations and ongoing spend, highlighting and escalating any concerns.
- Manage and maintain the CBI delivery communications, including the oversight and management of Teams channels and other online/ media.
- Take ownership, manage and coordinate the PMO mailbox.
- Support the Head of CBI in establishing and managing the induction and onboarding process for the CBI delivery team.
Essential Skills and Experience
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the following skills and experience:
- A good grasp of the project delivery lifecycle and experience of coordinating projects, programmes and portfolios.
- Diplomatic, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to take initiative and problem-solve
- Remains calm under pressure, is confident to escalate issues or flag risks that may surface.
- Experience in working in a global environment and across multiple time-zones
- Strong experience in working with main MS office applications (Excel, PowerPoint etc).
Desired Skills and Experience
- PMO certification
- MS Project, JIRA or PPM experience would be helpful
- PMP / PRINCE2 foundational understanding.
