SalaryAllen Lane are supporting Norwich City Council on their recruitment for a Political Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Make arrangements for all Group meetings and away days. This includes preparing and circulating agendas, minutes and related documents.
- Ensure effective communication by liaising with Council officers, other groups (internally and externally) and other Political Assistants. Communicate on behalf of the group with other groups and officers of the council. Facilitate effective communication within the group.
- Carry out policy research and analysis, and offer policy advice for the group. Prepare and research motions/questions/policy for council meetings and the annual budget.
- Monitor, and attend where neccesary, council meetings. Monitor council reports and policies, press coverage, reports by local and national governments and related organisations, and internal party developments. Brief Members where neccesary.
- Undertake administrative tasks for the Group including letter writing and publicising surgeries and group activities.
- Manage information resources including a research library and the e-councillor intranet site.
- Ensure all Councillors receive training needs and other neccesary support.
