JOB TITLE:Portfolio Surveillance Data Analyst
SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £45,470 - £46,350 for outside of London. For London it is £53,043 - £54,070
LOCATION: Chester, Glasgow, Leeds or London
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Surveillance Data Analyst within the Chief Control Officer function. The team is strategically important for our Consumer businesses to build and develop new innovative tech and data-led solutions to provide proactive assurance over key processes that protect customers and the bank.

Successful candidates will have experience querying large datasets, apply logic and critical thinking to solve problems, have a can-do attitude, and able to collaborate across a diverse customer group.
An ideal Portfolio Surveillance Data Analyst will have experience querying large databases, has a can-do attitude, and enjoys problem solving and critical thinking. They are also willing to learn, are highly motivated and have a passion for working with people in a collaborative way to create, build, support and improve our ability to assess risk using data.
With support from the Senior Analyst, you'll complete the monthly production of the team output, including investigating unusual patterns, or out of tolerance results through data or case reviews. You'll complete necessary amendments to production code when processes change. Investigating when things that don't look right, using data queries, conversations with key parties and understanding to root cause. Finally, you'll highlight where the team's processes could be enhanced to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

What you'll need
Data Analysis tools (SQL essential, Sas, Teradata, Python preferred)
A curious mind and a keen eye for detail. You'll enjoy exploring data and are inquisitive in nature. You use your analytical thinking and problem solving skills to get to the source of the issue.
You're big on collaborating as you'll be supported by a Senior Analyst who will help coach you on design and execution, as well as explaining performance fluctuations to our external business partners.
You love to learn. You'll continuously look at ways to develop your skills and enjoy finding new ways of doing things to keep moving forwards.
Solid skills in Microsoft Office
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication.

Any other coding experience
