Positive Behaviour Support Lead
Peripatetic - Heckmondwike based with travel within South and West Yorkshire
22.5 hours per week
Salary £34,000 - £40,000 per annum - pro rata and D.O.E

Aspire in the Community is a well-established provider of services for adults who have Learning Disability, Autism, behaviours of concern and Mental Health Needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Lead (PBS) to join our supportive and innovative organisation. The PBS will support our 5 small services, based in South and West Yorkshire, to manage and co-ordinate their Behaviour Support approaches, assisting with planning, implementation and evaluation of behavioural interventions for our service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist guidance and support to service managers and teams in all aspects of providing PBS for individuals who present with behaviours of concern
  • Development of Behaviour Support strategies by analysing data and functional behaviour
  • Assist managers in monitoring and reviewing progress against original objectives and producing evaluation reports encompassing both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals to ensure good outcomes for individuals
  • Develop specialist learning materials for PBS and delivering training in a manner which embeds ethical approaches and safe and effective use of physical intervention skills

The successful Positive Behaviour Support Lead must:-

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification at Level 4 minimum in either (Positive Behaviour Support, Health and Social Care, Teaching)
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience working with PBS, and people identified as presenting behaviours which challenge, pose risks or limitations to their quality of life
  • Possess strong strategic development, assessment and analytical skills
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work intuitively and sensitively with service users and staff, maintaining a high level of insight and positive relationship building
