About The Role
The Post Graduate Research Support Assistant will work within the Faculty of Science and Engineering Post Graduate Research Support Team in partnership with academic staff and other professional services departments to deliver the highest levels of professional support to Post Graduate Research Students.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring they work in accordance with all University policies and procedures, governance and constitutional frameworks, seeking guidance from team leaders/managers where appropriate.
This role will suit applicants who have significant administration experience in working in education within postGraduate Research or clear transferable skills.
The post holder will need to have strong customer service and interpersonal skills. They will also need to be highly organised, proactive, with a strong eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, anticipating problems which may arise.
The role will involve working closely with PGR students and academic staff so the ability to form effective working relationships and gain a thorough understanding of academic programmes and regulations is essential.
Post Graduate Research Support Team colleagues will work closely with colleagues in the Student Experience and Information team, and will be expected to work in front-facing student offices as well as providing support and information online, via email and phone/Zoom

Hours of Work - Part Time, 21 hours per week. Applications for part-time or job-sharing arrangements will be considered. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as necessary in order to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post.
