About the Role We seek a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team exploring immersive learning within the Metaverse, playing a crucial role in 3D modelling, augmented reality, and virtual reality projects.  You will contribute to the advancement of real-world case studies of educational institutions that integrate Metaverse-based learning. The use of the EON-XR platform and other virtual technologies will be a key aspect of this research. About the Metaverse Team At the forefront of inventing immersive and enjoyable camera experiences that form the core of our products, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of educational technology and creating impactful, engaging VR learning environments. Responsibilities The successful candidate will work on 3D modelling for immersive and interactive experiences in web-based VR/AR applications. They will collaborate with the Metaverse team to create assets for innovative learning environments and contribute expertise in Blender/any high-performance 3D modelling tools suitable for Metaverse applications. Familiarity with standalone VR headsets is highly preferred as well as familiarity with object recognition, tracking and feature detection techniques. You will create innovative research and develop and implement novel algorithms and models in the Metaverse. You will implement work into the EON-XR platform and have solid experience with software design, implementation, testing and reporting, and  collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on research projects.  Required Experience Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, related field, or equivalent experience. Two years experience implementing machine learning algorithms for augmented or mixed reality applications. Strong background in technology-integrated education and project design. Proven track record of research excellence, demonstrated by publications. Skills and Expertise The successful candidate will have skills and experience surrounding creating real-world case studies of educational institutions integrating Metaverse-based learning using the EON-XR platform. They will be experienced in designing Machine Learning algorithms in the Metaverse and possess augmented reality development capability. The successful candidate will also have: Experience working with C#, C++, and Unity. Familiarity with graphics-based techs such as Blender, OpenGL, 3D Maths, and other 3D technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interest in exploring how other technologies, such as deep learning algorithms, can enhance the development of AR and Metaverse experiences.
