About the Role
Changan is undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of our passenger car business. The UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work to develop the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains. We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer – Power ElectronicsSystems Engineering to join us.
Requirements
- Strong numeracy and literacy
- Five to ten years experience is required and preferably some of this will be in automotive
- Good logical reasoning
- Deep experience of Power Electronics ideally including Automotive Inverters
- Knowledge of power electronic devices and how they are integrated into the HV electrical system
- Experience of developing hardware to meet IEC 61508 (or domain specific variant, e.g. ISO 26262)
- Experience of specification, development and test of power electronic device such as inverters
- Experience of working with teams of engineers designing and testing Power Electronics
- Evidence of achieving results through effective work against objectives
- Good communication skills
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the capture of requirements and support the development of Power Electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems
- Lead/support the testing of Power Electronics hardware and software
- Capturing and analysing requirements from different stakeholders
- Disseminate requirements to appropriate teams for action
- Support the development of electrical and electronics architecture for e-drive applications including HV harness and connectors schematics
- Prepare/develop test plans and methods
- Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities
- Lead the System DFMEA and support functional safety analysis
- Ensure compliance with relevant EMC/EMI standards
- Managing the technical delivery of suppliers
