Practice Payroll Administrator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join a market-leading Payroll firm based in Uckfield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly successful payroll team. You will work with a varied client portfolio across a complete mix of industries, ranging from small director-only payrolls through to multi-million pound groups. Responsibilities: - Liaising with clients and entering payroll data from start to finish accurately - Reconciling payroll to client data, getting client approval as appropriate, and issuing payroll reports & payslips - Preparing payroll journals - Reconciling weekly and monthly PAYE figures - Preparing BACS files - Administering Pension Auto-enrolment including making appropriate declarations to The Pensions Regulator. - Producing and distributing pension scheme returns, including notification of changes in members' status and uploading to the pension provider - Dealing effectively with queries from clients and HMRC Requirements You will have current payroll experience and be confident in managing a diverse client portfolio (consisting of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls) Previous payroll administration experience within an accountancy practice or bureau. High level of accuracy and attention to detail A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision CIPP qualified, studying, or qualified by experience. Excellent numeracy skills Thorough knowledge of payroll-related legislation such as PAYE, National Insurance, family leave & pay, etc. Ability to manually calculate payroll results and explain calculations/breakdown to clients Good understanding of pension schemes and rules Evidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player who is confident in working to change priorities in a busy department. A natural organiser with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Working knowledge of a computerised payroll software. Benefits £23,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
