Job description

Job Title:Prevention Worker

Team: Our Way Leeds (OWL)

Responsible to: Prevention Team Leader

Responsible for: N/A

Hours: 30 hours per week (Part time)

Salary: Scale 12 - £25,046 (pro rata)

This role is part of Young People’s Housing Related Support Service Our Way Leeds (OWL), delivered by a consortia of service providers. The consortia have GIPSIL as the lead provider alongside Foundation & Turning Lives Around. OWL provides a wide range of interventions to prevent homelessness, four types of supported housing and pre and post-tenancy support schemes for young people & young people leaving care including unaccompanied asylum seeker children. Young people can be single, young families or couples.

The purpose of the role is to improve the lives of individuals and families living in Leeds who require support in relation to sustaining their tenancy or supporting with a planned move into suitable accommodation. 

Prevention workers will also work alongside the mediation worker in cases where the young person and parent/carer would like support around their relationship to enable the young person to stay or return home.
